I grew up going to church every Sunday, and sometimes in between. I stopped going in my early twenties when I started to have some definite qualms about organized religion, and when I moved away from my home church. Over my years in Toronto I’ve intermittently attended a few different churches, some that I’ve really liked, but which are inconveniently distant, and some which have been spiritually and communally disappointing. I really enjoy the feeling of community that comes with belonging to a church, and I really love the musical participation one can get from joining a choir.
Since moving to my new house, I have auditioned the local Anglican church, and found it wanting. In the coming weeks and months (however long it takes) I shall try out some other options.
